    Function chofetzChaim

    • Returns the Sefer Chofetz Chaim reading scheduled for the given Hebrew date.

Sefer Chofetz Chaim (Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan, published 1873) covers the Jewish ethics and laws of speech. The schedule is Hebrew-calendar driven: the same Hebrew date in different years receives the same reading, in a 3-year mini-cycle that repeats. The implementation handles short Cheshvan and short Kislev by folding the missing 30th day's reading into the 29th.

Unlike most other calendars in this package, this function only accepts an HDate (not a Gregorian Date or absolute day number).
